02:02<Henry_Bean>Nemoder: thanks for reply, but I do not agree, I've been using sid for the last year and is the first time that my system breaks in some way i have no idea how to fix, I'm not complaining about sid, I'm just looking for some help to figure out what could be wrong

02:06<jm_>Henry_Bean: did you even check BTS first?
02:07<goodger>Henry_Bean: yes, it's something of a policy. the sort-of-policy is "if you can't fix it, don't use it", as specified by Nemoder
02:07<Henry_Bean>jm_: I didn't know under what package search
02:07<Nemoder>sid is unstable for a reason, expect it to break
02:08<jm_>Henry_Bean: start by checking what kernels thinks of those devices
02:10<Henry_Bean>Nemoder: of course, and that's why I'm not complaining about sid, and I don't trying to use the community as consultants... I just need some guidance about where to start looking, because at first sight I though that my touchpad had broken i.e.

10:02<Wesley>why always when I want to upgrade debian (apt-get upgrade) does it want me to download the same kernel, and install it?
10:02<Wesley>i always run into problems when I do it

21:54<avu>Bongolian, I think synaptics is installed when you choose the 'desktop' task in the installer but only then (and I could be wrong). In any case, you can just install it afterwards.
21:54<avu>Bongolian, just aptitude install synaptic
