01:08<enouf>haha @ "ceweasel is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Iceweasel process, or restart your system."

01:09<enouf>i don't want to kill the running instance ;-)
01:10<enouf>i want a separate instance to run :-)
01:11<jm_>doesn't it have -a switch for that?
01:11<enouf>hrm ... i know with kde, one could add another tty and user, and run another instance. not sure if through ssh though - since it LOOKED like another entire XServer, but was not
01:11<enouf>it might?
01:11<jm_>let me check the script
01:11<enouf>jm_: thanks - and thanks for autocutsel -fork ,, works
01:11<jm_>yeah -a to set application ID - and it's still not listed in --help
01:12<enouf>hrm ..
01:12<craigevil>enouf: try with iceweasel firefox -no-remote
01:12<enouf>craigevil: ok
01:12<craigevil>crap leave out the firefox
01:12<enouf>craigevil: same error
01:13<jm_>I suppose that's the right way to call it - with -no-remote, not using -a
01:13<enouf>i believe it's the whole ssh without x11vnc issue
01:13<jm_>doh, then try -a
01:13<craigevil>that works in X on the same pc but i dont know anything about ssh

01:24<enouf>i missed last thing about .fonts - though i think that works - depends on apps
01:25<jm_>it's in fontconfig path by default, so it will only work for apps relying on it

23:16<vvas>drakeman: it's normal yes, it has to do with how X works
23:16<vvas>drakeman: you can avoid it by using a compositing window manager

23:17<drakeman>vvas, compositing window manager? like?
23:17<drakeman>vvas, compiz?
23:17<vvas>drakeman: compiz (or KDE4's kwin with desktop effects enabled)
23:18<drakeman>vvas, thanks, i though was a memory problem hehe, i have 2gb, im going to try with compiz, kde is slow for me.

23:20<ml|>one sec

23:21<vvas>drakeman: also you'll probably notice that it only does it on very specific windows / parts of windows
23:22<ml|>vvas: yes, but see line 35 you see what i mean now tho
23:22<drakeman>vvas, yes!
23:22<vvas>drakeman: (the HTML content area of Firefox is the usual culprit)
23:22<vvas>ml|: yeah, nevermind that, i wasn't referring to that earlier
23:23<drakeman>vvas, well, i see the draggint thing with almost every window, just certain parts of the windows, like i said, im goint to try compiz, to see if that helps.
23:23<ml|>vvas: yes i know that now thought that is what you meant at the time tho
23:23<vvas>ml|: anyway, see that line? the "set root=(hd0,1)" one? just add it between lines 57 and 58
23:24<vvas>drakeman: yes, you see it by dragging any window, but only on specific windows

23:26<ml|>vvas: yes, or like i did in grub right?
23:26-!-ctrl_c [~ctrl_c@] has joined #debian
23:26<vvas>that too
23:26<ml|>plus it needs linux16
23:27<ml|>which that patch fixes
23:28<drakeman>vvas, thats right because if i drag the window over the desktop background, dont see the problem..
23:29<ml|>vvas: the patch...
23:30<vvas>ml|: yes i saw it, it's not enough
23:30<vvas>ml|: are you sure about the linux -> linux16 bit?
23:30<vvas>(preparing one now)
23:30<ml|>vvas: yes
23:31<ml|>wonder what else 20_memtest86+ needs for it to do it on it's own
23:35<vvas>ml|: give me an email address, and i'll send you a patch to try
