00:03<argonel>i have an ext3 filesystem that seems to have two sets of content. i saved a file last week, and it was gone when i rebooted. i rebooted again, and the file that i saved last week is back, and todays changes are gone
00:05<argonel>so just for fun i copied the dir off to another drive, and restarted.. and the "missing" contents came back
00:06-!-xmxm [] has joined #debian
00:07<blunted>dats weird
00:08<argonel>ok, so the plot sickens. apparently others had the same thought i did and rebooted it, to no avail. so its not even on every reboot, just some
00:09<argonel>if i hadn't seen the contents of the dir before and after restart i wouldn't have believed it myself

01:05<dpkg>Iceweasel is a DFSG-free fork of Firefox, which replaces it in Debian as of Etch. It is not GNU's Firefox fork (now known as <IceCat>). 17:10<xeon-enouf>5.0.2 changes to .3 soon
17:10<xeon-enouf>yes; MOST ALL is the same - indeed
17:10<dr|z3d>xeon-enouf: True enough.. some folk like to have the full repos offline..whatever floats RedNix's boat. :)
17:11<RedNix>I use AMD Athlon 64
17:11<dr|z3d>So 32bit is usually referred to as i386.
17:11<xeon-enouf>dr|z3d: so long as that enter key nonsense stops ;-)
17:11<dr|z3d>xeon-enouf: Couldn't agree more. :)
17:11<dpkg>The enter key is not a substitute for punctuation. Hitting enter unnecessarily makes it difficult to follow what you are saying. Consider using ',', '. ', ';', '...', '---', or ':' instead. If you hit enter too often, you will be autokicked by debhelper for flooding the channel.

21:52<SuperMiguel>whats the best tool to find my HD transfer rate?
21:53<abrotman>!multiple ask
21:53<dpkg>The chance of you getting a useful answer is inversely proportional to the square of the number of times you ask in a short amount of time: that is, if you ask four times in succession, you're 1/16 as likely to get a useful answer. Also, please don't ask both in freenode and OFTC at the same time; there's no real point in doing so and it's just annoying.

23:22<jidm>hi. im trying to install debian testing using USB pendrive. My laptop boots from the pendrive, but i only see a black screen, nothing loading.
23:23<user01>how do i add 1366x768 resolution so i can watch on my lcd tv?
23:23<jidm>user01 you can edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file
23:24<jidm>look there for the resolutions and add yours too manually
23:24<user01>jidm, is that it or would i have to install a special package for widescreen?

23:24<jidm>no special package
23:25<jidm>it should work. Add your preferred first to the list, so if that doesnt work, your system will try the next one
