21:29<dpkg>udev has the ability to statically rename Ethernet cards based on MAC address since version 0.090. The addresses are configured in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules (Lenny, Squeeze) or /etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules (Etch). If you want the mappings to change, edit the respective file. To apply changes: "udevadm trigger" ("udevtrigger" on Etch) or reload the relevant driver module. See also <forcedeth mac>, <udev>.

23:05<keaton>Well, I just switched my desktop machine from Ubuntu, and I'm setting up Compiz-Fusion. I installed all the modules for it, as well as the compizconfig gui, but it seems to be missing an awful lot of options. Notably the ability to change the effects used when minimizing/maximizing windows.
23:06<keaton>I also distinctly remember setting up desktop cube so that when I was focused on the desktop, middle clicking the mouse could be used to pan the cube. But now when I try to set that control, it pans when I middle click with any window focused. Little things like this are bugging me everywhere in compiz.
