01:14<yardleydobon>It's hitting the harddrive hard too. Can't do anything else.

04:58<smv>because i prefer to use gnome and because i don't like fighting with dependencies, i have the whole set of packages that come with it. because i don't use abiword, for example, i've disabled it in gnome-menu, and when ever there was an update to it, it has _never_ tried to reenable the menu item, in the last 6 months since i use debian. now there is this piece of ****** called software center, wich i think is build by a ****** ***** ******* that is reactivating it
04:58<smv>'s menu item, _every_ single time when there is an update to it, and that was like a dozen in the last 6 months. now i wanna know why the **** it's doing this, and who is responsible for this stupidity. and ya, i'm ******* mad about this.

05:02<smv>read again what i said. abiword which is disabled is not being reenabled. not even a single time. but software center reenable the menu item every single time i disable it!!
05:03<themill>smv: why not just uninstall them?
05:04<smv>uninstalling software center will also uninstall gnome and i don't want to track changes manually. it shouldn't mess with my menu. it's a stupid thing to forme that into an update.

19:05<dpkg>[uuid] Universally Unique IDentifier, used to reference disk partitions (among other things). See currently known partition UUIDs with `blkid'. In /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/menu.lst, use "UUID=dead-beef-0420-etc" as the partition name. Helps to cope with device name changes such as hda->sda (<libata> transition) or changes in USB disk order discovery. <LVM> tools accept PV/VG/LV UUIDs as arguments, use {pv,vg,lv}display to acquire.
