06:00<jm_>Cheezy_Rider: but you're sure the drive is OK?
06:01<Cheezy_Rider>Yes. I was using it earlier for storage, so I formatted it and began the devin installation process.
06:01<hbbs>hi, I've just installed php5 on a machin running lenny - however php-files are downloaded by the browser as plain text, i.e. not executed on the server
06:01<jm_>well if BIOS doesn't see it it's usually a bad sign
06:02<hbbs>Last time I've worked with apache it was somethin like veriosn 1.3
06:02<Cheezy_Rider>Maybe I'll just stick to Windows......much less complicated. lol
06:03<gsimmons>dpkg: tell hbbs -about php wants me to download still
06:04<jm_>i'm pretty sure your original problem was that boot loader was not installed on mbr

06:04<hbbs>dpkg: -about php wants me to download still
06:04<dpkg>hbbs: I give up, what is it?
06:05<hbbs>dpkg: -about php download
06:05<dpkg>hbbs: I'm not sure, is it larger than a breadbox?
06:05<jm_>!php wants me to download still
06:05<dpkg>The usual problem is your browser caching the content, so make sure you cleared your browser cache and restarted your browser and also verify that it's still a problem outside of your browser using wget, GET, curl, telnet, netcat etc. Do make sure you have carefully read <install php> and /usr/share/doc/php*-common/README.Debian.gz as well as many common problems are addressed. 11:48-!-CyberRat [] has joined #debian
11:49<__diego__>well, yeah, basically I dont mind having an OS in each computer , I just wanted to share everything (so I can have two screens and more cpu / mem power)
11:50<dominick>__diego__, if you wish to have an OS on both, then a software can do it, but there would be a little more lag! Not ideal!
11:50<__diego__>dominick: ok, lets say just to be able to use both screens with only one computer resources
11:50<dominick>__diego__, just as swap is slower than your memory, shared resources over the network/cable would be worse!
11:50<weasel>what you want is very non-trivial
11:51<weasel>it can be done for applications that are specifically written with such an environment in mind,

12:04<Zzz>Hi. is there a tool/package/script which can give me the usergroupname given a GID (not parsing the /etc/group file)?
12:04<Zzz>something like: getgrgid
12:05<rpetre>getent group $GID | cut -f1 -d: ? :)
12:05<Zzz>"id" gives me the groupID but can also give groupnames. However space is the delimiter and therefor groupnames with spaces are troublesome. Therefor I want to convert
