03:58<wferi>Hi! I've just upgraded a machine from lenny to squeeze, and things are generally good.
03:59<wferi>What I don't understand: if I aptitude install --without-recommends deborphan,
03:59<wferi>I get a warning, that an untrusted version of deborphan is going to be installed
04:00<wferi>If I just aptitude install deborphan, no such warning is given

You can also use "chvt" to switch VT. VT is also used to mean Intel VT-x or VT-d (virtualization support; the AMD counterpart is called AMD-V or Pacifica), ask me about <xve>.

20:29<codemonkey1337>I'm GUESSING it's because I have a newer model video card. My professor said he was running an nvidia card and his install went fine.
20:30<robbiethe1st>I mean, on windows, all the drivers present a common API, so the same configuration instructions should work

20:31<robbiethe1st>Try looking for qemu drivers; remember, though, that the liveCD is running on actual hardware, whereas qemu is /not/

20:32<robbiethe1st>I don't honestly know.
20:32<codemonkey1337>I run virtualbox from the same machine in a different OS, it doesn't detect the driver.
20:33<robbiethe1st>Personally, though, if you want it to /work/, just grab virtualbox, download a pre-installed virtual disk image for debian, add disk image and press start.
