02:37<ptr>Hi, folks. Has anyone attempted to use debmirror in squeeze to mirror squeeze lately? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. It seems to be working right up until it hits a bunch of 404s in squeeze-proposed-updates/contrib/binary-adm64/Packages.diff/*
02:38<ptr>squeeze and squeeze-updates both seem to work; it's just squeeze-proposed-updates that doesn't

05:00<babilen>DragonDon: I haven't played any games in about ten years, but Linux really isn't a good platform for gaming. You can surely play some of the games that have been released for it or others in, say, wine, but you won't have "the MS Windows experience" when it comes to games.
05:01<DragonDon>jm_, being somewhat impatient, I looked at what was available when I bought my parts, and the nVidia card I saw did not do well on Linux (according to some), I ended up with an ATI Radeon HD6570

I have set the same for the whole sheet (click in the top left corner -> format -> cells -> font). 17:26<retrospectacus>weox: it's cause gnome includes transmission. You can remove gnome, and install other torrent programs, also install other gnome programs you want
17:26<dpkg>Is apt trying to remove packages that it thinks were automatically installed? This happens when you "aptitude install gnome" and then later remove bits of it causing the gnome meta-package to be uninstalled and then all its dependencies. Fix this by running "aptitude unmarkauto packagename" on strategically chosen packages, or reinstall the <metapackage> (apt-get also has unmarkauto from squeeze onwards).

19:09<gnufan>zlatan: we've been through XEN HVM clock issues before, the only approach we haven't tried is to recompile the kernel to allow jiffies as a clock source, and run it independently of the Dom0 clock entirely. The system has been stable for a long time, so whilst we plan to upgrade I suspect the new instability will likely follow us until I figure out what is causing it.

21:50<bones_was_here>Orpheus: a lazy person way of getting stuff from testing/unstable without affecting rest of system, is after you add testing to sources.list, create a file /etc/apt/apt.conf containing
21:50<bones_was_here>APT { Default-Release "squeeze"; };
