04:49<buffoon_work>well, I would suggest you to setup squid (or another proxy) on a different port that apache is using. Then configure your proxy to be transparent, redirect connections on port 80 which have another destination then your own server ip (because there apache should respond) and there you are

11:14<pfrost>the problem is i have cron-apt configured to automatically install security updates only, and nagios monitors for uninstalled upgrades (but they aren't automatically installed). So I can upgrade to squeeze's latest to get rid of the error in nagios, then at night cron-apt will install the same package from squeeze-security, then nagios says there are updates again.

14:42<cesurasean>pparadis, yes. 1 onboard, 2 pci.
14:43<retrospectacus>cesurasean: interfaces file then. What's the problem?
14:43<cesurasean>retrospectacus, i would rather just use the 2 pci, and disable the onboard, but that config is not working.
14:43<gdb>cesurasean: /etc/network/interfaces is where you'll configure it
14:43-!-roby_ [] has quit []
14:43<cesurasean>the problem seems when i upgraded debian, it didn't take into account that i had not enable, or even specified the onboard nic, yet the onboard nic is clashing with the 2 pci cards, and causing no cards to work.
14:44<cesurasean>gdb, i configured it @ i tried this; ; but when i reboot and try to do ifconfig up eth2, for example, the command line just freezes. & none of the 3 nics work?

14:57<pparadis>but we still don't know what cesurasean is actually trying to accomplish.
14:57<cesurasean>pparadis, it's a load balancer, 1 nic inbound, 1 outbound.

17:51<heikkila>Nebel, if it is about configuring a Debian installation just ask away
17:52<Nebel>I've Debian Squeeze installed successfully, I'd like someone to point me in the right direction about:
17:52<Nebel>mounting iso files straight from nautilus
17:53<Nebel>mounting samba folders automatically from nautilus (so that any aplication can access it as if it were a local folder)
17:54<Nebel>I come from Ubuntu, were iso mounts with the "mount manager" and latest samba folders are accessible from the .gvfs folder...
