11:21<pfrost>why does squeeze backports have kernel images for 3.2.0, but source for 3.2.18? I'm trying to build a kernel for NFS root, and the prebuilt kernel works fine, but if i build from source using the config in /boot, I hang at boot. I'm thinking maybe if they were the same version, I might get more predictable results.
11:22<pfrost>or perahps there is a better way to build a kernel identical to the prebuilt packages?

13:37<pfrost>so hm...I trying to get debian to boot with an NFS root. It mostly works, but boot hangs just after logging "Starting periodic command scheduler: cron." on the console. Is there something with more verbose output that might give some clue what's hanging?
13:38<pfrost>actually...maybe the problem is simply that inittab isn't starting a login console.

17:41<chamunks>Hey im having issues getting mysql to accept my .sql file it keeps telling me table not found.
17:41<retrospectacus>chamunks: go on...
17:42<chamunks>im not sure how to fix this this is the error im getting "ERROR 1146 (42S02) at line 1: Table 'pex.permissions_entity' doesn't exist
17:42<chamunks>wow that didnt copy twice
17:42<chamunks>one more shot
17:42<chamunks>ERROR 1146 (42S02) at line 1: Table 'pex.permissions_entity' doesn't exist
17:43<chamunks>so i dont really know much about sql i usually use phpmyadmin to spoonfeed me.
17:43<retrospectacus>well ... the problem is that that table doesn't exist... what are you asking?
17:43<chamunks>but its also spewing the same general issue.
17:43<chamunks>well im looking to try and fix this
17:43<retrospectacus>you need to create the table
17:43<chamunks>so it will accept the sql dump
17:43<chamunks>isnt there a way to make it do that automatically
17:43<retrospectacus>usually the table structure is contained in the dump file
17:43<chamunks>isnt that kind of the point of the sql dump?
17:43<retrospectacus>ummm no
17:44<retrospectacus>the dump *may* contain CREATE TABLE statements but it depends how it was dumped

17:45<chamunks>sometimes a nudge to the right community is all i ask :)
17:45<chamunks>also thanks for not being a bunch of ubuntu tards
17:46<retrospectacus>chamunks: #mysql will not be friendly towards your problem

17:47<chamunks>bleh ok thanks :)
17:47<retrospectacus>you should re-dump with the *structure* included
