04:24<Sidicas>I'm not sure how to check, to be honest. But the problem can be fixed by running a command with rfkill so I'm pretty sure it's not the kernel.
04:25<weasel>it may still be a kernel bug. anywya, if you're not sure I'd just update the bug with what you know, and let the maintainer figure it out if they should reassign it

04:37<p3gasus>before I go and just add ulimit -n 4096 to the /etc/init.d/mysql script directly :)

04:42<p3gasus>i'll check it in a bit..
04:42<EmleyMoor>It used to work but I've removed pulseaudio because it was causing me trouble elsewhere
04:43<EmleyMoor>Now I get lots of messsages about it...
04:43<p3gasus>safinaskar: i've already spent half an hour on this seemingly simple task. i'll just stick it straight in (so to speak)

05:45<gpm>hi. my wifi card is being assigned a new mac address and uuid every time i reload the driver module or reboot. i'm wondering if there is a way to have a saved connection with network-manager under such conditions or, more desirably, if it's possible to make the network card (rt61pci driver) stick to its MAC and uuid. thanks in advance.

05:48<devil>gpm: using networkmanager, the only way I know would be a udev rule that pins it down. without nm a edit in /interfaces would do.

20:55<darkham>where can i look the boot log?
20:55<dpkg>aptosid (formerly sidux) is a live distribution <based on Debian> Sid. It is not supported in #debian. #aptosid on

21:00<sney>darkham: well, if you want the same kind of thing as aptosid was supposed to be, then follow devil to siduction. if you want to install debian, then install debian and read before using sid/unstable.
21:01<devil>darkham: if you are up to fixing whats broken, run debian sid. if you want a minimum of handholding with sid, run siduction
