01:08<pfdint>Not a bug. We've been carrying an unsupported patch on coreutils that made uname -p and uname -i return something other than unknown --developer

01:43<pfdint>Good to know: You can force a version on the command line with apt-get install somepackage=someversion, but you can't ask for a version that isn't in the repositories apt knows about, which usually means the release you are on.
01:45<mjrosenb_>i'm mostly confused why it grabbed a *different* version of the same package, rather than telling me "that doesn't exist"
01:46<pfdint>Probably a builtin feature of apt-get, this is why I use aptitude, though to be fair i'm not sure if that does any better. I'm under the impression apt-get tries to be friendlier in usage.
01:46<pfdint>Or it could be a builtin pointer in the repository, managed by the repository keepers.

21:28<daemonkeeper>vook: You get 4G full-duplex capacity by bonding 4 x 1 Gb NICs. However, an individual flow is limited to the wire capacity of a single bonded link. So yes, use 4 parallel connections to speed-up things. That said, 60M is below the link capacity of a _single_ 1G link, so that's not your problem.

22:42<fix>Im trying to setup softraid on 3 hard disks, I allready have my os installed on a seperate disk, I created 3 raid partitions using the entire disks on three physical disks, but now I want to create the raid volume, Im doing this in webmin and I see nothing to assist me. Any suggestions on what to use?
22:42<fix>Im doing raid0
22:42<fix>for a squid cache
22:43<mjrosenb_>I assume you're using mdadm?
22:43<fix>erm, Im using webmin
22:43<fix>at least thats what I used to create the raid partitions

22:44<fix>but webmin only lets u create partitions on the disks, I dont see anything in it for managing raid volumes
22:44<mjrosenb_>every time i've set up raid, I've done it with the command line
22:44<mjrosenb_>and have never even heard of webmin
22:44<fix>what do you use?
22:45<fix>webmin is a web based system administration tool, really handy for noobs like me:)

22:56<light>I'm trying to figure out which ciphers the Linux kernel crypto API supports. So I put in file:///proc/crypto in the browser and it says it lists just two: stdrng and md5. What did I do wrong?

23:02<Zhila_Laptop>light: I think those are the only two supported by the kernel (at least those are the only two that show up for me that have module stating kernel). The other two that I see have different modules. Of course, I really don't know anything about this stuff.
