03:02<jm_>and thunderbird is a 32bit app? if so you will want to enable multi-arch and install 32bit libs it needs for it to work
03:02<jm_>why don't you use Icedove?
03:03<SmitySmiter>Thunderbird is E-Mail client not browser, Debian has Evolution by default, but I need to restore my backup, which is Thudnerbird
03:04<SmitySmiter>the weird thing is, Firefox works, which is also 32bit
03:04<jm_>yes so is icedove
03:04<jm_>apparently firefox can find all the libs it needs (or it comes with them ...)

03:15<SmitySmiter>SamB_laptop, I believe Debian insisted on not having Firefox rather than Mozilla deciding to do that, right?
03:15<jm_>!why iceweasel
03:15<dpkg>Due to Mozilla logos licensing, Mozilla software isn't DFSG-free, so Debian distributes Mozilla software with different logos. Mozilla Corp revoked the agreement to let Debian use Mozilla trademarks, so Debian changed to non-trademarked product names. See for more information. Ask me about <dfsg> <iceweasel vs firefox>.

07:56<zumbi>shockwave flash videos broke on chromium-browser?
07:56<zumbi>even getting pepperflashplugin from backports does not help
07:57<SynrGy>there is an ongoing discussion on freenode about this

07:57<zumbi>SynrGy: what is the summary?

07:59<SynrGy>yeah, due to npapi

10:54<babilen>That card is not supported by b43. Do you simply assume that it should be or why do you think that it does? So, your actual problem is that you want to do $FOOBAR for which you need "monitor mode" which is, according to your testing, not supported by brcmsmac. The device does, however, work with that module for "normal" things like connecting to an AP?
10:55<babilen>You might have more luck with the <wl> driver.
10:55<babilen>dpkg: wl
10:55<dpkg>Broadcom's proprietary wireless LAN driver (wl, aka broadcom-sta) supports devices based on the BCM4312 LP-PHY and BCM4313/4321/4322/43224/43225/43227/43228 chips. To install (amd64 and i386 only), see . Since Debian 7 "Wheezy", this driver creates wireless interfaces with the 'wlan' prefix (see NEWS.Debian.gz). Most chips are also supported by the open source <b43> and <brcmsmac> drivers.
10:55<rila>I assume it supproted it because this page says it does:
