13:22<ruslanas>hi team, I am using Debian GNU/Linux 8.3 (jessie) on 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt9-3~deb8u1 (2015-04-24) x86_64 and launching minidlna server. It was already running, but I decided to make it listen only to one specific IP not for an interface, as I want to startup another minidlna instance on the same interface but different IP address. when I enter -a IP or in /etc/minidlna.conf listening_ip=
13:23<ruslanas>IP i get an error, that option listening_ip is not recognised and when I start it from cmd line it writes an error: -a option is unknown... :) have any ideas? is it intended to be? cause manual says that -a should be there also config file sais the same... :) mayne I need to report bug? or find some info how I can fix it and submit patch? Thank you for your help.

Knoppix is a live CD distribution which is <based on Debian>, useful as a rescue CD, to test hardware, and for situations where you have access to a computer but it isn't Debian. unofficial: <Debian-live> is the Debian equivalent for publishing live systems.

15:26<Walakea_>no i meant debian on my laptop
15:26<zishy>your c states are not configured well
15:26<towo`>Walakea_, iirc you have an optimus setup, so your system is consuming more power, because the nvidia chip is powered on, even if you don't use it
15:26<jeep>Walakea_: did you compile your own kernel ? cpu freq scaling problem ?
15:26<zishy>and it doesnt understand how to put some hardware to sleep

15:27<Walakea_>no i didt compile my kernel
15:28<towo`>Walakea_, on optimus you allways use intel
15:28<towo`>Walakea_, that doesn't mean the nvidia chip is powered off

15:28<Walakea_>yes, but what shoul i do?
15:29<towo`>power down the nvidia chip?
15:29<retrospectacus>zishy: so if you move those drives and enable nfs or samba or ssh (or whatever protocol you want to use)... you're done, no?
15:29<Walakea_>someone told me that if i have stable debian, i cannot install unstable nvidia driver
15:29<zishy>that would be the pragmatic solution
15:30<towo`>Walakea_, on optimus, you can't install nvidi-driver in debian way at all
15:30<Walakea_>more specifically it would crash my system, which is what happened
15:30<towo`>Walakea_, optimus is the greatest crap on earth

22:50<abc123>hello, I have managed to lose the place I wrote down my root password; I do have my sudo password so I am fine. Is there a way to use `sudo` to reset `su`? I realized I have never used `su` ever since setting my system a few months back but I feel a bit daft losing it...
22:50<twb>abc123: "sudo -i passwd"
22:52<abc123>Found it! Sorry! :D
22:52<abc123>twb, thank you.
22:52<abc123>I will keep it in mind for future use.
