10:14<Gendalph>if I make a chain for inbound TCP connections and route all new external TCP connections there
10:15<Gendalph>ip6tables -A INPUT -i eth0 -p tcp --syn -m conntrack --ctstate NEW -j TCP
10:16<Gendalph>this rule is bypassed by incoming TCP packets
10:16<Gendalph>however, if I drop the state/ctstate part and limit all packets falling under --syn filter
10:16<Gendalph>then it works

17:14<somiaj>grummund: you can read the manpage for more details. For a change between one release to another follow the release notes and you will be fine. On sid (unstable) I personally upgrade first then dist-upgrade. To me the advantage is the upgrade won't install/remove any package.

18:44<somiaj>so then submit a patch, if the debian matainer/mailing list suggest going upstream. You will want to see how to submit a patch/make a contribute to the upstream source would be my thought.
18:45<path`>somiaj: the people i see reporting patches here are being told it has to go upstream, but this is where i was pointed to to report:

21:10<hybridwipe>dillon, a lot of stuff works out of the box. A good chunk of stuff won't, there's a site on wine's website ( with tips for many programs
21:11<hybridwipe>there's also winetricks, which will automate a lot of workarounds (mostly installing windows dlls to replace wine ones for your app so that it works)
21:11<petn-randall>dillon: The mount everest is something you can easily hike up, but at some point the air gets thin.
21:13<dillon>I am aware of the actual mountain I didn't know what you meant by it. Also I am not good with emulating programs. I am wanting to put bittorrent client on ubuntu because transmission just isn't doing it. That's the only thing I need wine for

21:14<abrotman>how is this related to Debian?
21:14<hybridwipe>abrotman, because wine is included in Debian?
