00:17<tripkin>AidanSW, you would need to know what the integrated graphics controller is, as the FX-6300 itself does not have one. What is integrated in the board?
00:18<tripkin>Once you know that info, then that site will be of more help

00:57<aloo_shu>rob_debian: from what it is looking like, the mcrcon binary you are executing it is a script - open it in a text editor instead of executing it, and you should be able to see which the commands are that bash is complaining about not finding
00:57<AidanSW>Okay, now I have a new issue, this one I at least don't think is my fault. For Removable USB install, there is missing firmware, so I have another USB disk with the firmware, the only time it detects the firmware is if I remove the install disk. Once it gets to the partition disks part after removing the install disk it fails to copy file from CD-ROM(install disk) due to it being a removed and replugged in. Not exactly sure how this was planned to work
00:59<tripkin>AidanSW, if you have lshw installed, that may be able to tell you the board model number, and maybe even the manufacturer...
01:01<tripkin>Otherwise, you may have to physically inspect the board if you do not have the manual or other notes handy...
01:02<AidanSW>Okay, thought that would be likely, the board as you can likely guess by the CPU is pretty old so I don't have a manual.
01:02<aloo_shu>rob_debian: maybe the commants are residing in the same /opt bundle, but are not added to the PATH variable? often, binary bundles menat to be put into /opt, do contain one executable, and maybe a .desktop launcher, that are supposed to be put outside the opt bundle, for instance into /usr/bin and /usr/share/applications, and that serve as so called 'wrapper' for the real executable in /opt,
01:02<aloo_shu>setting up the proper environment so that command and library calls all work - these things ought to be mentioned in the fine print of the install instructions, or some readme

01:07<AidanSW>... Good point jm_
01:07<jm_>if you have an issue with a shell script execute it via «bash -x script ...» or sh -x if it doesn't require bash

01:10<tripkin>AidanSW, your video card is an integraged ATI Radeon HD 3000. That will help you on the debianATI howto
01:11<AidanSW>Okay, I will try the non-free installer, hopefully that will fix it, if not I will look more into the ATIHowTo
01:11<tripkin>AidanSW, it actually runs all right, and it has an AMD RS780 for the graphics...
01:12<tripkin>make sure you check out the supported boards - it will help you choose the driver
01:12<AidanSW>Huh, I upgraded from my FX-6300 with R7240 to a Ryzen 2600x and RX480, it is pretty night and day

01:21<rob_debian>Well, aloo_shu, that's the procedure I tried to apply. Majority of them were applied without any error message:
01:24<rob_debian>And this is the installation process I got:
01:24<aloo_shu>oh it's an entire server - that's a bit over my head
01:25<rob_debian>humm. I think you know about it. Probably you'll understand my issue, aloo_shu

01:33<aloo_shu>what I seem to see in your paste, is that the server itself didn't install/start, it is implemented as a java file, server.jar, that got downloaded separately, but when trying to run it in the java engine, one option , -d64 , is not getting recognized, so despite systemd announcing a success, you don't have a running server yet that mcrcon could connect to

01:35<rob_debian>I see aloo_shu, but in this case, what should I do in order to run this server ?
01:37<aloo_shu>which is funny, because you probably chose the jre (which happened to be already installed) following instructions, yet one option from the same instructions is not getting recognized. where you're stuck, is that java is not running server.jar; you may want to read up about java 's invocation options, maybe online, what -d64 is supposed to do, and why openjdk jre 8 isn't having it
01:38<tripkin>sqrt{not}, sney, I have now rolled my kernel back to stable, so now I wait to see if that helps with the total lockup. Thanks for the help!

01:40<rob_debian>aloo_shu, thank you very much for attention and great support ! Nice to see you here :)
01:40<aloo_shu>java is propriety software by oracle today, but there are free implementations like openjdk, and that's what debian will use, ofc, maybe you bumped into a slight difference between the 2 versions there, guessing
01:41<aloo_shu>your welcome - and it is over my head, I'm just making the most of what little I do understand :), happy if it helps advancing
01:42<rob_debian>ok, to solve this doubt, I'll recreate all the steps described in the tutorial, and will check about his question related to openjdk versio too
01:43<rob_debian>sure aloo_shu, your explanation is a good insight to think logically what this issue. Really thank you :)
01:43<rob_debian>in fact, jre was already installed here

01:48<aloo_shu>I didn't open the instructions link, just the paste - was openjdk 8 jre explicitly mentioned as working in the instructions? maybe just some typo, or java being picky and wanting a space between -d and 64 (would be unusual) - could try man java or java --help or something, but if perchance openjdk java isn't having the -d option, you will not find much insight on it in the on board documentation

11:27<EmleyMoor>vip32: They should be there. How are you becoming the user to access them?
11:28<avu>vip32: do you have /usr/sbin in the PATH of the user/shell you're trying?
11:28<vip32>i have logged in as root or su'ed to root

11:29<EmleyMoor>vip32: What options did you give su?
11:29<vip32>none so just elevating to root
11:29<duclicsic>instead of beating around the bush: vip32 make sure you do 'su -' or 'sudo -i' to become root and your PATH will be set correctly
11:30<EmleyMoor>duclicsic: Haven't the options changed? Don't think 'su -' quite cuts it any more

11:31<vip32>ok the su options must have changed a little, before su with no arguments was all i did, when i do "su -" it seems to address the issue
