00:45<Dungeon>do you know if you got a wordpress site drupal or joomla? its what they call a content management systems?
00:46<Dungeon>they store the information in a database. so youll have to export them from godaddy and put it in a mysql database on linode
00:46<Dungeon>and copy the contents of whichever cms you use into your hosting folder and link it to the database
00:47<SaH>i have my own site build with php
00:47<Dungeon>i dont know if linode offers support with server setup because im not linode helpers
00:48<SaH>there is no problem with DB / PHP files
00:48<SaH>main problem is image file
00:48<SaH>10GB+ in size
00:48<Dungeon>10gig?
00:49<Dungeon>doesnt sound like any cms database im familiar with ;) ill let a linode helper take over on that note :)
00:51<Dungeon>and hello arlen
00:52<Dungeon>was gonna ask how hard it would be to get webmin using those certs
00:53<arlen>hi
00:54<arlen>no idea i dont use webmin, but i'd imagine not hard at all

01:01<JeremyE77>SaH: can you just zip it and wget it...soemthing very simple :)
01:02<JeremyE77>zip it on go daddy then use wget to download on Linode (good bandwidth)
01:02<SaH>will wget works for that large file size ?
01:03<JeremyE77>wget doesen't care, but there are similar methods. you don't need anything complicated to just pull it in via http
01:04<JeremyE77>I don't know what godaddy allows but it would be optimal if you could just rsync
01:08<SaH>thanks for suggestions
01:09<SaH>i'll will try wget to transfer images then rsyn for new images
01:09<JeremyE77>Nice. I hope it works out. Its a good general purpose solution. :)

04:52<Knofte>maybe you should just ask your question instead Imran ?
04:53<Imran>mran> can you help regarding Linode affiliate program?
04:53<Knofte>Well, that's not really specific about what you actually need help with.
04:53<Imran>I am saying "Can you help regarding Linode affiliate program?"
04:53<Knofte>Yes.. but what about the affiliate program?
04:53<Imran>I am a blogger and share reviews about web hosting and want to join Linode's affiliate program.
04:53<Knofte>what is the question about it?
04:53<Knofte>Ah, ok.
04:54<Knofte>If you have an account, there's a ref-tracker inside your dashboard.
04:54<Imran>I already signed up for the program but it keep saying me that you must buy something from us before promoting Linode's products...
04:54<Imran>Your referral code - unavailable until signup has been completed -
04:55<Knofte>yeah, you need to be a customer, because you get free months for clients signing up through your link.
04:55<Knofte>For example, if I get a client signing up for a certain amount of months, I get a free month for my own VPSes.
04:55<Imran>but there is also this mentioned: Referrals reward you when you refer people to Linode. If someone signs up using your referral code, you'll receive a credit of $20.00, so long as the person you referred remains an active customer for 90 days.
04:55<Knofte>Linodes does not pay you a percentage or cash. Only free months.
04:56<Knofte>Yes, the credit is for using towards your Linodebills.
04:56<Knofte>so you will still need to have a linode/server with Linode.
04:56<Imran>I think then Linode should update their affiliate page :)
04:56<Knofte>I agree with you. :)
04:56<Knofte>I've been arguing the same.
