01:55<Zimsky><Eugene> [00:50:52] DreamPhysix - you need to have a routed block of addresses; this requires a ticket to obtain. Ask for a /56
01:55<Zimsky>...not necessarily
01:55<Zimsky>you /could/ do stuff with a /64 and use even just a /112
01:56<Zimsky>I've been able to do ipv6 tunnelling with a /112 of a /64 routed to the vm
01:56<Zimsky>because I want to use some of that 64 for other stuffs
01:56<Zimsky>you just have to use proxy NDP

09:16<Mrhope>Yeah familiar with the overhead with HTTPS and with lots of static content, maybe that is the main cause. By "harder time" I'm referring to the server having the httpd fail several times a day vs. rarely ever. Full server does not crash just httpd.

09:24<J-Node>Mrhope: how's your memory? what does htop show?
09:26<Mrhope>Don't have htop. Top shows: KiB Mem : 24686600 total, 6043372 free, 1977048 used, 16666180 buff/cache
09:27<J-Node>Shouldn't be memory then, just a thought. htop is handy to have though.
09:30<Mrhope>Yeah, I should get that installed. This is a pretty difficult question to answer probably. So maybe I can just ask some advice instead of a technical question.
09:31<Mrhope>Any comments on ngix vs apache. I have lots of static content, which I've read ngix is a lot better at doing.
09:35<J-Node>Haven't bothered switching, been using Apache for 10 years or so. 10G memory here, rarely use more than 1/3 of that (which admittedly is 1G more than your total)

09:39<Mrhope>Are you doing https and/or http2 on your server J-Node?
09:41<J-Node>https on some. 11 instances of httpd using around 5% of total memory. Several vhosts, but not huge load now.
09:43<J-Node>Also, though I've figured out how to roll my own by now, I still use cPanel as I have several clients that rely on web services. Easier to pay the few bucks a month and let them handle updating & proper configs.
09:44<Mrhope>So using cpanel I'm assuming you're not using http2. I've read that is still experimental right now.

09:46<J-Node>If server load gets crazy I'd have to do something about it, but for now it doesn't bother me to use what works.
09:48<Mrhope>If you're exploding I'd assume you would have been lost.
