02:15<Jacky>hello ,anyone there?
02:15<millisa>me and 340 of my closest friends
02:18<Jacky>Ok, I'd like to know if the Linode 1GB has an independent IP
02:18<MrPPS>It does
02:18<millisa>Yep
02:18<millisa>!ip
02:18<millisa>!ips
02:18<linbot>Each Linode comes with 1 public IPv4 address and 1 public IPv6 address. Additional IPv4 addresses are $ 1 per month, and require technical justification. A /64 or /56 of IPv6 can be routed to your Linode at no charge.
02:18<millisa>There we go
02:19<Jacky>Included in $ 5 per month?
02:20<millisa>Every package.
02:21<millisa>Unless you were asking if it cost extra for the initial IP? (No - all of them get an ipv4 address included. Extras cost more and need justification)
02:22<Jacky>Can not change ip? Is this operation charged?
02:24<millisa>I'm not sure what you are asking; You can swap a linode IP with another linode if you needed to move it?
02:26<Jacky>Do i mean that the IP address can be replaced?
02:26<Peng_>What? Why?
02:27<Peng_>Yes, but not totally conveniently.
02:27<Peng_>(And it's more complicated with IPv6.)

02:27<Stargate>Hello
02:27<Stargate>I have a question.
02:27<millisa>Greetings. Ask away
02:28<Jacky>If the IP address is a country sealed, how do I change?
02:28<Peng_>What?
02:29-!-mode/#linode [+l 342] by ChanServ
02:29<Stargate>A few years ago I was hacked by a faulty Wordpress plugin. On another host. The hacker was able to access all of my sites. I've followed the Linode guides, set up my site, and all is well. Now I want to make some more sites, some wordpress. Is the default configuration enough so that the user won't be able to upload a file and then be able to access my other sites on the server?

02:30<Stargate>If one of my sites gets hacked, I don't want them all to be compromised.
02:30<millisa>Stargate: it's setup however you set it up. there's nothing inherent in a linode setup that will prevent or allow it
02:30<Stargate>You see, millisa, I am a noob.
02:30<millisa>if they are on different linodes, there's nothing really shared between them (unless you do something to make it that way)
02:30-!-mode/#linode [+l 343] by ChanServ
02:30<Stargate>They are on the same linode.
02:33<millisa>depends how you set it up then. if one of the sites is set to allow other (or world) to be allowed to write to it, sure, you could have one site infecting another.
02:37<Stargate>I've asked in the forums for help

10:07<@jackley>frodecc: we're in the middle of some planned maintenance on the Linode API and Manager -> https://status.linode.com/incidents/8kbxs5rdh49k
10:08<@jackley>frodecc: shutdown/boot jobs, Linode creation... basically everything that touches the API will be a bit spotty for a while.
10:08<frodecc>jackley: Oh. I assumed you were finished with that since I was allowed to log in again. :)
10:09<@jackley>frodecc: I believe it's wrapping up. things are coming back piece-by-piece
10:10<frodecc>jackley: Thanks. I have two shutdown jobs in queue for the same linode - and also I shut it down myself with "shutdown -h 0" - I assume that's not a problem and it will be registered as shutdown eventually.
10:11<@jackley>frodecc: once job processing is normal, those jobs will process and clear. I'm not sure when that 'shutdown -h 0' command will run, or how that'll effect the order of things

22:20<dzho>not in punnet squares, that's recessive vs dominant
