04:44<btQuark>hello everyone
04:59<btQuark>i've some dvb-s mythtv here and i wonder how i could use the record-multiple-shows-from-the-same-transponder-feature
04:59<btQuark>i do set up recordings via mythweb (no frontends here)
04:59<justinh>you might like to check the channel topic ^^^^
04:59<btQuark>oops, sorry :)
05:00<btQuark>anyway, high appreciations for all your work!
05:00<btQuark>mythtv seriously kicks ass!

05:06<justinh>morning btw folks. gbee - that mythvideo change looks wicked :)
05:07<gbee>justinh: can't wait to see what themers do with it :)
05:07<gbee>morning all
05:08<justinh>gbee: time will tell. There's more than one reason everybody just copies what other people have done so far ;)
05:08<gbee>err, yeah :/
05:09<gbee>I probably shouldn't get my hopes up considering that none of the core themes have actually themed mythvideo etc
05:09<justinh>well, you're rightly enthused about the work you've done & it'd be sad to see everybody continue to follow the same leads
05:10<justinh>I'm as guilty as the rest tbh
05:11<stuarta>btw chaps
05:11<stuarta>getting married in just over a month
05:11<stuarta>so won't have any time till end of Nov
05:11<stuarta>so my tickets are up for grabs in the meantime
05:13<justinh>wow that's crept up fast

05:23<justinh>gbee: well, if somebody (not pointing at myself or anything) gets off their arse & provides some examples in the wiki I imagine it'll help inspire others no end - all the while letting whoever does it get more familiar with mythui theming ;)
05:36<gbee>first lot of backported h.264 changes seem to have improved cpu usage, I can't remember the earlier figures but it's now maxing out at ~115% cpu
05:37<gbee>with a 2Ghz AMD 3600+ that's not too bad, using skiploop though

15:35<gbee>is anyone going to mind if I merge the mythvideo branch while it still needs some cleanup done? It should be entirely functional it's just become a little messy due to the recent batch of changes
15:40<abqjp>Fine with me.
15:40<abqjp>And yes, I do actually use it.
15:41<GreyFoxx>If anything it will help point out any big problems that haven't been caught yet heh
15:42<GreyFoxx>It was black and had telephone buttons on it :)
15:45<janneg>gbee: no, I wanted to suggest that yesterday evening already
15:47<gbee>ok, I'll tinker for another hour then think about doing it
15:51*j-rod wonders if he should get off his ass and start running svn trunk again...
15:52<kormoc>j-rod, I've been wondering the same for awhile :P
15:53<j-rod>for me, just too damned many other things going on lately
15:53<j-rod>kormoc: speaking of other things... lirc... mod_mce... upstream kernel...
15:53<GreyFoxx>Since we're talking about it now in -users. Should we change the default mythvideo video player to Internal instead of mplayer ?
15:54<j-rod>kormoc: should chat at some point about that driver and where it fits into the kernel tree
15:54<j-rod>GreyFoxx: yes
15:54<kormoc>GreyFoxx, +1 for me
15:54<GreyFoxx>I don't think we should alter existing db settings, but new ones should be Internal
15:54<kormoc>j-rod, sure, although it needs updated for the newer kernels
15:55<j-rod>GreyFoxx: I set up a new frontend the other day, and was slightly startled to find that it *wasn't* the default
15:55<GreyFoxx>heh yeah
15:55<GreyFoxx>same here
15:55*stuarta svn up's
15:55<stuarta>lotsa changes in the last week
15:55<j-rod>kormoc: hey, *all* the lirc drivers need some work to get upstream :)
15:56*kormoc laughs
15:56<kormoc>True enough
15:56<j-rod>I think we've only got through cleaning up like four of 18 drivers so far
15:56<j-rod>(and that's just the initial review pass, who knows what others come up with on subsequent passes...)
16:00<GreyFoxx>gbee: Can you think of any simple way that the GetCover loading in mythvideo could know what the intended size will be?
16:01<GreyFoxx>so intead of just image->Load(file) we could do something like image->Load(file,x,y) ?
16:03<GreyFoxx>Right now I'm caching in memory loaded images to avoid reloading from disk, and caching in memory scaled copies after all scaling requests in SetImage() .. But if I could know at load time the destination then we could avoid the cost of scaling altogether by my saving a copy of the scaled image to disk and using that next time
16:03<gbee>GreyFoxx: no I can't, one we have the image cache I'd change it so that we feed the filename to the widget (imagetype etc) instead of a MythImage, the widget would be responsible for calling Load() and would also know the intended size
16:03<GreyFoxx>ahhh ok
16:04<gbee>seems less messy that way?
16:04<GreyFoxx>I've got the cache working for the most part, just need to add something for limiting it's size and such
16:05<GreyFoxx>I'm cheating and reusing the cache that already existing for caching remote images ... mythuihelper::GetImageFromCache and CacheImage :)
16:06<GreyFoxx>It's pretty much unused now
16:09<j-rod>janneg: is hd-pvr support in svn trunk, or happening in a branch?
16:09*j-rod ordered one from newegg today
16:09<iamlindoro_>j-rod: It's in trunk
16:09<j-rod>cool, thanks
16:09<iamlindoro_>Working fairly well at this point, too (so long as you lock the STB to a single resolution)
16:09<j-rod>there's my main impetus for getting off my ass and running trunk

16:10<j-rod>one of these days, I'll fix the fucking firewire stack too...

16:22<GreyFoxx>gbee: Remember that non centered coverimage thing I mentioned? Iturns out it only happens AFTER I navigate in that particular directory. So the first time I enter the directory it shows everything centered. As soon as I move around all images shift to being on the left
16:23<gbee>GreyFoxx: hrmm, ok, I've made a note and I'll see what I can find
16:24<GreyFoxx>I'll comment out my changes to SetImage as wlel just to be sure it's not something I broke
16:24<gbee>chances are I can reproduce with QT, I don't devote exactly equal time to testing both painters so I'm not suprised there are QT related bugs
16:26<GreyFoxx>And of course shows the last line as the images cut off heh
