13:21<andythenorth>I wondered about the orders
13:21<andythenorth>to me it seems like another boil-the-ocean issue
13:21<frosch123>it's easier to explain people shared orders than to extend the limit :)
13:22<andythenorth>are we making a game for 15 AIs to play on 4k^2 maps?
13:22<andythenorth>https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=boil%20the%20ocean
13:22<andythenorth>frosch123 you're on record that it's not just a trivial/arbitrary limit?
13:22<frosch123>i know about two people who reached the limit in 12 years, and they were quite excited when someone explained them shared orders
13:23<frosch123>andythenorth: i think the limit is the command structure
13:23<nielsm>ah yeah 16 bit fields
13:23<frosch123>hmm, though they use vehicle-local order ids
13:24<DorpsGek_II>[OpenTTD/OpenTTD] andythenorth commented on issue #6968: No more space for orders https://git.io/fpYjC
13:24<nielsm>what about when creating the orders?
13:24<DorpsGek_II>[OpenTTD/OpenTTD] andythenorth closed issue #6968: No more space for orders https://git.io/fpmbg
13:24<andythenorth>James103 has an interestingly detailed approach to testing
13:24<andythenorth>it looks like he did a really complete accurate diagnosis
13:24<andythenorth>for facts that could have been achieved by reading 2 lines of code
13:25<frosch123>hmm. it may be a trivial limit
13:26<frosch123>still needs a savegame bump
13:27<nielsm>when I see screenshots that include the taskbar, and see WMP and the uwp mail app pinned, I always wonder if it's because someone is actually using those, or they don't know how to unpin them, or they just can't bother to

14:52<nielsm>https://youtu.be/TpkeXn-zM9w livestreaming :P
14:54<Xaroth>.. I need to get the old music on my OpenTTD install
14:54<nielsm>:D
14:55<andythenorth>wow
14:55*andythenorth will judge playstyle :)
14:55<andythenorth>I can't zoom in :(
14:56<andythenorth>we should add multiplayer, with spectator mode?
14:56<Xaroth>I can't zoom out :(
14:56<andythenorth>error: no FIRS
14:57<Xaroth>planetmaker will have a heart attack at that track layout
14:57<Xaroth>but it works
14:58<andythenorth>yeah definitely you want that engine
14:58<andythenorth>I build tracks like that also
14:58<Xaroth>You need to play more OpenTTDCoop :P
14:59<nielsm>here have some zoom
14:59<andythenorth>nielsm: this is great, it's like watching user testing
14:59<andythenorth>have you noticed you can obsess over integer train lengths with Horse 2?
14:59<nielsm>never used horse 1
15:00<andythenorth>most newgrfs result in odd decimal fraction lengths
15:00<andythenorth>Horse can always make an integer for engine + wagons + caboose
15:00<andythenorth>(Horse 2)
15:00<+glx>am I the only one trying to move the view ?
15:00<andythenorth>nope
15:01<andythenorth>I do this on YT tank game videos too
15:01<andythenorth>I try and look for enemies
15:01<Xaroth>glx: You are definitely not alone
15:01<andythenorth>very flat map :)
15:01<nielsm>mic isn't on, right?
15:01<Xaroth>no, nielsm
15:01<nielsm>if it is you'd head bird screaming
15:02<andythenorth>nielsm: found any of the pointless easter eggs yet? o_O
15:02<nielsm>hmm don't think so
15:02<andythenorth>well, they're features really :P
15:02<andythenorth>but I think I'm the only one who cars
15:02<andythenorth>cares
15:03<andythenorth>you can ctrl-click to flip livery on pax and mail wagons
15:03<andythenorth>and on hopper cars
15:03<nielsm>ah
15:03<andythenorth>and caboose
15:04*nielsm should have checked whether the sc-55 is hooked up to line in
15:04<nielsm>then I'd play music through that instead of ms soft synth
15:05<nielsm>flashy sprites...
15:06<andythenorth>so relaxing watching someone else play
15:07<andythenorth>no need to actually do anything
15:07<andythenorth>like the log fire channel on satellite TV
15:09-!-sim-al2 [~sim-al2@141.225.245.76] has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
15:15<nielsm>bwahaha
15:16<andythenorth>this makes me want to finish the broken sprites :P
15:16<andythenorth>it's painful on other people's screens :)
15:16<nielsm>:D
15:16<andythenorth>oh you have flashing tail lights on the wagons
15:16<andythenorth>I don't get those
15:16<andythenorth>I can't use 'full animation'
15:18<andythenorth>it's a bit of a debate about where to align trains
15:18<andythenorth>rails are too wide
15:18<nielsm>neither of those two looked really good yea
15:19<andythenorth>I am replicating original base set positioning
15:19<andythenorth>except where I did it wrong
15:21<nielsm>I loooooove path signals
15:23<andythenorth>yup
15:23<andythenorth>transformative
15:30<andythenorth>lack of station name disturb me greatly
15:30<nielsm>?
15:31<andythenorth>I always keep them on :)
15:31<andythenorth>the signs
15:31<nielsm>ah
15:31<andythenorth>or was I just missing them?
15:31<andythenorth>green CC :P
15:31*andythenorth must go to the pub also
15:31<andythenorth>bye
15:31-!-andythenorth [~andytheno@cpc87219-aztw31-2-0-cust178.18-1.cable.virginm.net] has left #openttd []
15:35*nielsm wonders who the remaining viewer is
15:35<nielsm>(or is it just myself)
15:37<+glx>poor passengers
15:38<nielsm>bus service expected biweekly
15:38<nielsm>(every other week)
15:43<frosch123>is it plausible that the official mediawiki docker is incomplete and does not work at all?
15:46<frosch123>also is it plausbile that mediawiki do branches in git like in svn, i.e. with directories?
15:46-!-Arveen [~Arveen@p4FEB966F.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
15:55<lugo>< nielsm
15:56<nielsm>yes?
16:12<nielsm>I should stop this and get some sleep
16:13<LordAro>frosch123: that is what they do?
16:14<frosch123>https://github.com/wikimedia/mediawiki-docker <- this is the source of the "official" mediawiki docker
16:14<frosch123>it is actually forked from some other guy
16:14<frosch123>the stuff from the other guy looks good, they added directories for mediawiki versions
16:14<frosch123>but the real stuff is only in some directory which is not used by the docker image
16:15<frosch123>so, the official mediawiki docker image on docker hub completely lacks the apache configuration
16:15<frosch123>i am now trying the docker from that guy, where official is forked from
16:15<frosch123>at least it looks like it contains the stuff that i found missing when debugging :p
16:19<LordAro>no idea about docker, but mediawiki itself separates itself (and pretty much all extensions) into release branches

16:41<@planetmaker>Xaroth, I shall be fine with about most track layouts ;)
16:41<Xaroth>Hah, not that :P
16:41<Xaroth>180 in 3 tiles
16:42<nielsm>I usually avoid tight turns, but in this case freight trains faster than 96 km/h weren't available anyway so it didn't make much of a difference
16:42<@planetmaker>:D
16:43<@planetmaker>I built that before. But with 90° turns disabled, those were used in balancer-like or priority-line-merge constructions
16:44<nielsm>but uh, bed, I think I was on my way there a while ago
16:44<nielsm>and forgot about it
